Family policies
Whether you may watch, what to wear, who collects and how photos are handled.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching class
On the last class of every month, families come into the studio and watch. On other days, grown-ups of ages 4 to 6 wait in the lobby, and grown-ups of ages 2 to 3 are in the room, dancing along. The May recital is open to family and friends.
What to wear and bring
A leotard or a plain top with leggings or a skirt, and ballet slippers, or socks for the first weeks. Hair up and off the neck, and a water bottle with a closing lid. Please leave jewelry and costumes at home.
When to keep your dancer home
Please keep your dancer home with a fever, a cough that keeps them from joining in, or a stomach bug, and bring them back when they have felt well for a full day. Tell us and we will help with a make-up class.
Drop-off and pickup
A teacher meets each class at the studio door and hands every dancer to a named grown-up at the end. Please tell us in advance if someone new will collect your dancer; we ask them to show an ID.
Running late
If you are running late, call the studio. A teacher stays with your dancer until you arrive, and a dancer is only handed to a grown-up on the pickup list.
Weather and closures
When the roads are bad, we close and tell families by text and on our Instagram page by seven in the morning. A missed class from a weather closure is made up in the same session.
Missing a class
Tell us when your dancer will miss a class, if you can. A missed class can be made up in another class of the same age group that has room, within the same session.
Still wondering?
Ask at the door, call the studio, or send a message.
